Love has devoted my tongue to your praise,

In recognition of the kindness you have bestowed.

Thus my gratitude for what you have bestowed is like

The gardens' gratitude to April's rain cloud.

I am your partisan wherever you are—a truth

On which no two souls have differed in judgment.

And indeed the spears clashed, and you stood in

Your field of victory as the knight of knights.

And I have recounted shining deeds, ascribing them

To your eminence, in accounts both sound and good.

And you are most worthy of allegiance—a quality

That has fallen to no other human being.

You are the sun; you stand alone. And can one see

Among humankind two suns upon one horizon?

With your succor you have restored every noble soul,

And every tongue sang its thanks to God.

And your auspicious stars appeared, their course direct,

And rose, so the two ill-omened stars fled before them.

So welcome returning good fortune, unveiling

A wondrously lovely face of contentment.

And seek increase by thanking your Lord, and trust

    In redoubled bounty and kindness.

For gratitude leads further bounty like riding camels

That keep coming to your door, held in its halters.

Then peace be upon you; its fragrance surpasses

In sweetness the scent of aloeswood and balsam.
