خُصِصْتُ بالحُسْنِ وانْفَرَدْتُ بِه

خُصِصْتُ بالحُسْنِ وانْفَرَدْتُ بِه

فجَلّ وزْني وقَلّ أشْباهِي

فجَلّ وزْني وقَلّ أشْباهِي

I was singled out for beauty and stood unrivaled in it.

So my worth grew great, and few were those like me.

كأنّني كوْكَبُ الصّباحِ بدَا

كأنّني كوْكَبُ الصّباحِ بدَا

علَى جَبينِ الغَنِيِّ باللّهِ

علَى جَبينِ الغَنِيِّ باللّهِ

As though I were the morning star that appeared

Upon the brow of al-Ghani bi-llah.
