نَادَيْتُI called upon دَمْعِيَmy tears إِذْwhen جَدَّbecame imminent الرَّحِيلُthe departure بِهْمwith them
وَالْقَلْبُand the heart مِنْfrom فَرَقِthe anguish of التَّوْديِعِthe farewell قَدْhad وَجَبَاnearly stopped
I called upon my tears when their departure became imminent.
And my heart nearly stopped from the anguish of farewell.
سَقَطْتَyou fell يَاO دَمْعُtear مِنْfrom عَيْنيmy eye غَدَاةَthe morning نَأىwent away

You fell, O tear, from my eye the morning
the beloved went away from me, yet you did not fulfill what was due.
