I am the playground of union that gladdens the heart,

And a heavenly tower that gathers the sun and the full moon.

I guard secrets so faithfully that it is as though I

Was called a couch because I safeguard the secret.

When you let your gaze roam among my marvels,

And behold beauty that bewilders mind and thought,

With a curtain of gold spread above me, and

The hand of good fortune and success having lowered a curtain beneath it,

You see a steed with no fear of stumbling,

And a mount of good fortune that neither hungers nor goes bare.

I am like gardens visited by falling rain,

Which clothed them in brocade and perfumed them with fragrance.

And the eighth of the kings of jihad set me up,

Then clothed me in glory and exalted my rank.

And the generosity of his right hand enslaves free men,

And the sun’s face puts his radiant brow to shame.

May he ever remain Nasrid in glory, splendid in adornment,

His red banner accompanying the army of victory.

And may I ever remain a horizon for domes and a place of rising,

Showing you radiant full moons and shining stars.

When evening draws near, may you be greeted with all you desire,

And whenever morning comes, may you be greeted with glad tidings.
