لا تَقْرَبَنّ بما يُنْعى عليْكَ غَدا

لا تَقْرَبَنّ بما يُنْعى عليْكَ غَدا

وتسْتَخِفَّ بحمْلٍ لسْت تَقْدِرُهُ

وتسْتَخِفَّ بحمْلٍ لسْت تَقْدِرُهُ

Do not draw near through what will be held against you tomorrow,

Do not draw near what will be blamed upon you tomorrow,

nor take lightly a burden you cannot bear.

And take lightly a burden you cannot bear.

فشاهِدُ الزّورِ يقْضي حقَّ صاحِبِه

فشاهِدُ الزّورِ يقْضي حقَّ صاحِبِه

وبعْدَ هَذا بتِلْكَ العَيْنِ يَنْظُرُهُ

وبعْدَ هَذا بتِلْكَ العَيْنِ يَنْظُرُهُ

For the false witness fulfills what is due to his companion,

For the false witness rules in favor of his companion,

and after this, he regards him with that same eye.

And after this, with that eye he will look upon you.
