بِحَقِّby the sanctity of مَاwhat بَيْنَنَاis between us يَاO سَاكِنيdwellers of الْقَصَبَةthe citadel
رُدُّواreturn عَلَيَّto me حَيَاتِيmy life فَهْيَfor it is مُغْتَصَبَهْforcibly taken
By the bond between us, O dwellers of the citadel,
By the right of what is between us, O dwellers of the village
Return my life to me, for it has been stolen.
Return my life to me, for it is stolen
مَاذَاwhat جَنَيْتُمْyou have done harm عَلَىto نَفْسِيmy soul بِبُعْدِكُمُthrough your absence
وَأَنْتُمُand you الأَهْلُthe family وَالأَحْبَابُand the loved ones وَالْعَصَبَهْand the kin
What harm have you done to my soul by your absence,
What have you reaped from my soul with your distance?
When you are my family, my loved ones, and my kin?
While you are the family, the loved ones and the clan
