عَبْدُservant of العَزيزِthe Mighty خَليفةُcaliph of اللهِGod الذيwho
عَبْدُ العَزيزِ خَليفةُ اللهِ الذي
ظَفِرَtriumphed الهُدىright guidance منْهُthrough him بفَوْزِwith the winning of قِداحِهِhis lot-arrows
ظَفِرَ الهُدى منْهُ بفَوْزِ قِداحِهِ
Abd al-Aziz, God's caliph, through whom
Abdul Aziz, Caliph of Allah whose guidance attained triumph through his determination; hence the gift of his aspiration expressed his valor and leniency - hail it, O homeland of struggle - revealing covenants of his vigor and shelters; So the steeds represent his roots, the dates his morals, the fragrance his eulogies; its softness the stars of his night and its scripture the dawn of his morn; its weapons set with determination or fully clad preserving the integrity of his righteousness. You renewed your father’s covenant in supporting it when you drew light from his lantern; your strife for the Caliphate ever succeeds, drawing rain from the clouds of its winds; the banner of your victory sets out a cloud that strews the conquests with the strokes of its spears.
Guidance triumphed as his lot-arrows won.
ولِذاكَand for that reason ماindeed (emphatic) أهْدَتْoffered عُلاهُhis highness هَديّةًa gift
ولِذاكَ ما أهْدَتْ عُلاهُ هَديّةً
قدindeed أعْرَبَتْexpressed عنْconcerning بأسِهِhis valor وسَماحِهِand his generosity
قد أعْرَبَتْ عنْ بأسِهِ وسَماحِهِ
For that very reason his Highness offered a gift
That proclaimed his valor and generosity.
حَيَّhe greeted بِهاwith it وَطَنَthe homeland of الجِهادِjihad تحيّةًa greeting
حَيَّ بِها وَطَنَ الجِهادِ تحيّةً
أبْدَتْrevealed عُهودَthe days of نَشاطِهِhis vigor ومَراحِهِand his exuberance
أبْدَتْ عُهودَ نَشاطِهِ ومَراحِهِ
With it he greeted the homeland of jihad—a greeting
That evoked the days of his vigor and exuberance.
فالخَيْلُthus the horses عنْof أعْراقِهِhis lineage والتّمْرُand the dates عنْof
فالخَيْلُ عنْ أعْراقِهِ والتّمْرُ عنْ
أخْلاقِهِhis character والطِّيبُand the perfume عنْof أمْداحِهِpraises of him
أخْلاقِهِ والطِّيبُ عنْ أمْداحِهِ
Thus the horses speak of his lineage, and the dates of
His character, and the perfume of praises sung of him.
ورَقيقُهاand its slaves منfrom لَيْلِهِhis night أنْجُمُstars of التُّقىpiety
ورَقيقُها من لَيْلِهِ أنْجُمُ التُّقى
وكِتابُهاand its book منْfrom فَجْرِهِhis dawn وصَباحِهِand his morning
وكِتابُها منْ فَجْرِهِ وصَباحِهِ
And its slaves are stars of piety from his night,
And its book is from his dawn and morning.
وسِلاحُهاand its weaponry ماضٍkeen مَضاءَwith the keenness of عَزيمةٍresolve
وسِلاحُها ماضٍ مَضاءَ عَزيمةٍ
أوor سابِغٌample واقٍprotective سُبوغَwith the fullness of صَلاحِهِhis righteousness
أو سابِغٌ واقٍ سُبوغَ صَلاحِهِ
And its weaponry is keen with the keenness of resolve,
Or ample and shielding, as ample as his righteousness.
جَدّدْتَyou renewed عهْدَthe pledge of أبيكَyour father فيin إمْدادِهاaiding it
جَدّدْتَ عهْدَ أبيكَ في إمْدادِها
لمّاwhen قَبَسْتَyou drew النّورَthe light منْfrom مِصْباحِهِhis lamp
لمّا قَبَسْتَ النّورَ منْ مِصْباحِهِ
You renewed your father's pledge in aiding it,
When you drew the light from his lamp.
لازالَmay ... ever remain سعْيُكَyour striving فيin الخِلافَةِthe caliphate ناجِحاًsuccessful
لازالَ سعْيُكَ في الخِلافَةِ ناجِحاً
تَسْتَمْطِرُseeks rain from الدّنْياthe world مَهَبَّthe windward quarter رِياحِهِits winds
تَسْتَمْطِرُ الدّنْيا مَهَبَّ رِياحِهِ
May your striving in the caliphate ever prosper,
While the world seeks rain from the quarter whence its winds blow.
ولِواءُand the banner of نَصْرِكَyour victory يسْتَهلُّpours forth غَمامةًas a cloud
ولِواءُ نَصْرِكَ يسْتَهلُّ غَمامةً
تَذَرُleaves الفُتوحَconquests جُثىًin heaps بقُضْبِby the shafts of رِماحِهِits spears
تَذَرُ الفُتوحَ جُثىً بقُضْبِ رِماحِهِ
And may your banner of victory pour forth like a cloud,
Leaving conquests heaped up by the shafts of its spears.
