يا سُخنَةَ العَينِ للجَرمِىِّ إِن جَمَعَت

يا سُخنَةَ العَينِ للجَرمِىِّ إِن جَمَعَت

بَينِى وَبَينَ هَوَى وَحشِيَّةَ الدَّارُ

بَينِى وَبَينَ هَوَى وَحشِيَّةَ الدَّارُ

May al-Jarmī’s eye burn with sorrow, if the dwelling unites

O warmth of the eyes towards the sinner, if home

me with love for Waḥshiyya.

Has brought together me and the wild desire
