Come, you two, to Ḥuzwā's water, and give your two worn she-camels a little to drink,
when her watcher leaves Ḥuzwā's water unattended.

And smell the moist earth until you both are relieved
of burning thirst by the pools' coolness and sweetness.

For at the water to which you both come
is a woman with spaced canine teeth and softly rounded ankles.

For no rain cloud that flashed between the two Simāk stars
from the lowlands, then was swept broadside by its south wind,

until the day each soul meets its Reckoner.”

I wished, without incurring God's hatred, that she
were my share of this world, and I her share.
