And my purpose in existence, my contentment

وإذا ما وجدتكم طاب عيشي

وتولى همي وغمي وكربي

And whenever I find you, my life grows sweet,

When I find you, my life is blissful

And my worry, sorrow, and anguish depart.

And my worries, sorrows, and troubles cease

ويرق الزمان لي ويحيى

ويرق الزمان لي ويحيى

كل ميت مني ويسهل صعبي

كل ميت مني ويسهل صعبي

And time grows gentle toward me; back to life comes

Time becomes gentle, reviving

All that is dead within me, and my hardship grows easy.

All that was dead in me, easing my hardships

شرفوني بالقرب منكم ووصل

شرفوني بالقرب منكم ووصل

يا دوائي من كل داء وطبي

يا دوائي من كل داء وطبي

Honor me with nearness to you and union,

Honor me with your nearness and connection

O my remedy for every ailment, and my cure!

O my remedy for every malady and pain

يا سكوناً في مهجتي وفؤادي

يا سكوناً في مهجتي وفؤادي

لا بغور ولا بنجد وكثيب

لا بغور ولا بنجد وكثيب

O dwellers in my soul and heart,

O tranquility in my inner self and heart

Not in a lowland, nor in a highland or on a dune.

Not in the deserts, highlands, nor hills

حبكم وودادكم حشو قلبي

حبكم وودادكم حشو قلبي

من قديم وقبل ماء وترب

من قديم وقبل ماء وترب

Love and affection for you fill my heart,

Love and affection for you fill my heart

Since long ago, and before water and dust.

Since ancient times before water and soil

وإذا ما ذكرتكم سرى سرى

وإذا ما ذكرتكم سرى سرى

واستراحت روحي بأنس وقرب

واستراحت روحي بأنس وقرب

And whenever I remember you, my innermost self journeys,

And when I remember you, delight spreads

And my soul finds rest in intimacy and nearness.

And my soul rests in intimacy and nearness

فارتضوني عبداً لكم ونزيلاً

فارتضوني عبداً لكم ونزيلاً

ولزيماً لكم فقيرا ملبي

ولزيماً لكم فقيرا ملبي

So accept me as your servant and guest,

So accept me as your servant and guest

And your constant attendant, poor, answering

As your companion, poor and yearning

دعوة الحق حين يدعو إليكم

داعي الحق الخير عجم وعرب

The call of Truth, when summoned to you are

Answering the call of Truth when it calls you

Ahmad, foremost of those who praise, best of creation,

Praise be to the Best of Creation

Master of the messengers, my Lord's chosen one.

Master of Messengers, beloved of my Lord

صلوات من الإله عليه

صلوات من الإله عليه

وعلى الآل خير آل وصحب

وعلى الآل خير آل وصحب

Blessings from God be upon him,

Blessings from God upon him

And upon his family—the best of families—and his companions,

And upon the best of kin and companions

ما سرى بارق وهب نسيم

ما سرى بارق وهب نسيم

واستهلت غمامة فوق شعب

واستهلت غمامة فوق شعب

As long as lightning courses and a breeze blows,

Wherever light has shone or breeze blown

And a cloud pours rain above a ravine.

Or a cloud has risen above a hilltop
