أحسنت يا وجيه دين اللَه

أحسنت يا وجيه دين اللَه

يا ابن الكرام الغر أهل اللَهِ

يا ابن الكرام الغر أهل اللَهِ

Well done, O Wajih of God's faith,

You have done well, O eminent in religion,

O son of the noble, radiant ones, the people of God,

O son of the generous, the noble of God's people,

في نظمك الإسناد للالباس

في نظمك الإسناد للالباس

من أولياء اللَه رب الناس

من أولياء اللَه رب الناس

in versifying the chain of transmission for investiture,

In your rhyming the chain back to the clear proof

from the saints of God, Lord of humankind:

Of God's saints, Lord of mankind,

أهل الهدى والحق والتأييد

أهل الهدى والحق والتأييد

والعلم واليقين والتسديد

والعلم واليقين والتسديد

people of guidance, truth, and divine support,

People of guidance, truth, and support,

and knowledge, certainty, and right guidance;

And knowledge, certainty, and direction.

مشايخ الطريق والحقيقه

مشايخ الطريق والحقيقه

وخلفاء اللَه في الخليقه

وخلفاء اللَه في الخليقه

masters of the Way and the Reality,

Shaykhs of the path and reality,

and God's vicegerents among creation,

And God's caliphs among creation.

من كل علام إمام قدوة

من كل علام إمام قدوة

صوفي مصفى للأنام صفوه

صوفي مصفى للأنام صفوه

each a great scholar, a leader, an exemplar,

From every sign, an imam and exemplar,

a purified Sufi, a chosen one for humankind.

A refined Sufi, the choice of people.

هم غيشاً في المحل والجدوب

هم غيشاً في المحل والجدوب

وغوثنا في الكرب والخطوب

وغوثنا في الكرب والخطوب

They are rain amid drought and barrenness,

They are succor in (our) places and water skins,

and our succor in distress and calamities.

And our rescue in worries and afflictions.

فاللَه ينتفعنا بهم ويرفع

فاللَه ينتفعنا بهم ويرفع

ويكشف السوء بهم ويدفع

ويكشف السوء بهم ويدفع

So may God benefit us through them and uplift us,

So may God benefit us through them and elevate (us),

and remove harm through them and ward it off,

And remove evil through them and repel (it).

ويجزى الناظم للإسناد

ويجزى الناظم للإسناد

خير الجزا في الحال والمعاد

خير الجزا في الحال والمعاد

and reward the versifier of the chain of transmission

And may He reward the composer of the chain

with the best reward now and in the hereafter,

The best reward, in the present and return.

ويختم الآجال باليقين

ويختم الآجال باليقين

مع اتباع المصطفى الأمين

مع اتباع المصطفى الأمين

and bring our lives to a close with certainty,

And may He conclude (our) lives with certainty,

while following the Chosen One, the trustworthy.

Following the Trustworthy Unlettered Prophet,

صلى عليه اللَه ثم سلما

صلى عليه اللَه ثم سلما

وبارك وشرف وكرما

وبارك وشرف وكرما

May God bless him, then grant him peace,

Blessings and peace be upon him,

and bless, ennoble, and honor him,

And blessing and nobility and generosity.

وآله وصحبه الأئمة

وآله وصحبه الأئمة

والتابعين في هداة الأمة

والتابعين في هداة الأمة

and his family and his companions, the leaders,

And (upon) his family and companions,

and the followers among the guides of the community.

The imams guiding the community.
