يا قريب الفرج نسألك تجلي ذي الأكدار

يا قريب الفرج نسألك تجلي ذي الأكدار

يا خفي الألطاف بيدك النفع والضار

يا خفي الألطاف بيدك النفع والضار

O You whose relief is near, we ask You to dispel these sorrows.

O You Who are near to grant relief, we ask You to shine upon those in distress,

O You whose kindnesses are hidden, in Your hand are benefit and harm.

O You Who hides kindness, in Your hands lie benefit and harm,

عافنا واعف عنا واكفنا شر الأشرار

عافنا واعف عنا واكفنا شر الأشرار

والبليات والآفات والذم والعار

والبليات والآفات والذم والعار

Grant us well-being, pardon us, and shield us from the evil of the wicked,

Grant us health and overlook our faults, and protect us from the evil of evildoers,

And from calamities, afflictions, blame, and disgrace.

And from afflictions, plagues, blame and disgrace,

واغفر الذنب وارحمنا وعذ من النار

واغفر الذنب وارحمنا وعذ من النار

سلك بك سلك بك يا رب با خير غفار

سلك بك سلك بك يا رب با خير غفار

And forgive sin, have mercy on us, and grant us refuge from the Fire.

And forgive sin and have mercy upon us, and protect us from the Fire,

I beseech You by Yourself, I beseech You by Yourself, O Lord, O best of forgivers.

We seek Your path, O Lord, O Best of forgivers,

سلك بك سلك بك يا رب يا خير ستار

سلك بك سلك بك يا رب يا خير ستار

سلك بك سلك بك يا رب يا نور الأنوار

سلك بك سلك بك يا رب يا نور الأنوار

I beseech You by Yourself, I beseech You by Yourself, O Lord, O best concealer of faults.

We seek Your path, O Lord, O Best of veilers,

I beseech You by Yourself, I beseech You by Yourself, O Lord, O Light of lights.

We seek Your path, O Lord, O Light of Lights,

سلك بالمصطفى الهادي لنا خير مختار

سلك بالمصطفى الهادي لنا خير مختار

وابن عمه علي الحبر قيدوم الأبرار

وابن عمه علي الحبر قيدوم الأبرار

I beseech You by the Chosen One, our guide, the best of the chosen,

We seek the path of Mustafa the Guide, the best of choosers,

And his cousin Ali, the learned scholar, leader of the righteous,

And his cousin Ali the Sage, foremost of the righteous,

وابنة المصطفى الزهرا البتول أم الأطهار

وابنة المصطفى الزهرا البتول أم الأطهار

والحسن والحسين أهل الكسا خير الأخيار

والحسن والحسين أهل الكسا خير الأخيار

And the Chosen One's daughter, al-Zahra, the chaste one, mother of the pure,

And daughter of Mustafa, Zahra the Radiant, the immaculate Mother,

And Hasan and Husayn, the People of the Cloak, the best of the virtuous.

And Hasan and Husain, the people of the cloak, best of nobles,

سلك يا اللَه بهم تحفظ لنا الربع والدار

سلك يا اللَه بهم تحفظ لنا الربع والدار

والقرابات والأصحاب والأهل والجار

والقرابات والأصحاب والأهل والجار

I beseech You, O God, by them, to preserve for us our dwelling and home,

We seek You, O Allah, through them to protect for us home and abode,

And our relatives, companions, family, and neighbor.

And kin, companions, family and neighbor,

وأرشد الوالي أنه يا إله السما حار

وأرشد الوالي أنه يا إله السما حار

لم يزل في عنى دائر مع كل من دار

لم يزل في عنى دائر مع كل من دار

And guide the ruler, O God of heaven, for he is bewildered.

And guide the ruler, O God of heaven hot,

He remains in distress, turning with everyone who turns,

He has not ceased to have care for all who reside,

في شبه من وقع في بحر عجاج تيار

في شبه من وقع في بحر عجاج تيار

فأصلح الكل يا عالم بمكنون الأسرار

فأصلح الكل يا عالم بمكنون الأسرار

Like one who has fallen into a roaring, surging sea.

For those who have fallen into a sea of turbulent currents,

So set all aright, O Knower of the innermost secrets.

So reform everything, O Knower of secrets,

وختم القول صلى اللَه على نور الأبصار

وختم القول صلى اللَه على نور الأبصار

أحمد المصطفى وآله مصابيح الأقطار

أحمد المصطفى وآله مصابيح الأقطار

And to close these words: may God bless the light of eyes,

And conclude this speech, may Allah send blessings upon the Light of sights,

Ahmad, the Chosen One, and his family, the lamps of the lands,

Ahmad the Chosen one, and his family the lanterns of horizons,

الصحابة مهاجرهم لوجهك والأنصار

الصحابة مهاجرهم لوجهك والأنصار

كلما غرد القمري على أغصان الأشجار

كلما غرد القمري على أغصان الأشجار

The Companions, those among them who emigrated for Your sake, and the Helpers,

The Emigrant Companions who migrated for Your sake, and the Helpers,

Whenever the turtledove warbles on the branches of the trees,

Whenever the moonlight sings upon the branches of trees,

أو سرت نسمات الحي في وقت الأسحار

أو سرت نسمات الحي في وقت الأسحار

Or breezes from the settlement drift in the hours before dawn.

Or the breezes of life blow at the time of pre-dawn,
