بشر فؤادك بالنصيب الوافي

من قرب ربك واسع الألطاف

من قرب ربك واسع الألطاف

Give your heart glad tidings of a full share

Gladden your heart with the bountiful portion

Of nearness to your Lord, boundless in gentle favors.

From the nearness of your Lord, vast in kindness

الواحد الملك العظيم فلذ به

الواحد الملك العظيم فلذ به

واشرب من التوحيد كاساً صافي

واشرب من التوحيد كاساً صافي

The One, the Sovereign, the Magnificent—so seek refuge in Him.

The One, the King, the Great, so cling to Him

And drink a pure cup of divine oneness.

And drink from the purity of Oneness a limpid cup

واشهد جمالاً أشرقت أنواره

واشهد جمالاً أشرقت أنواره

في كل شيء ظاهراً لا خافي

في كل شيء ظاهراً لا خافي

And behold a beauty whose lights have shone

And witness the beauty whose lights have shone

In everything, manifest, not hidden.

In everything apparent, nothing hidden

وعلى منص الجمع قف متخليا

وعلى منص الجمع قف متخليا

عن كل فان للتفرق نافي

عن كل فان للتفرق نافي

And stand upon the dais of union, divesting yourself

And at the gathering stand, letting go

Of all that perishes, rejecting separation.

Of all that passes, denying separation

والبس لرب العرش في أقداره

والبس لرب العرش في أقداره

ثوباً من التسليم واف ضافي

ثوباً من التسليم واف ضافي

And for the Lord of the Throne, amid His decrees, wear

And don for the Lord of the Throne in His decrees

A full, flowing robe of surrender.

A garment of submission, ample and flowing

واستكف ربك كل هم إنه

واستكف ربك كل هم إنه

سبحنه البر اللطيف الكافي

سبحنه البر اللطيف الكافي

And ask your Lord to relieve you of every care; indeed, He is

And suffice yourself with your Lord, all concerns, for He

—glory be to Him—the Beneficent, the Gentle, the All-Sufficient.

Glorified is He, the Bountiful, the Gentle, the Sufficing

واسأله أن يلبسك ثوب إنابة

واسأله أن يلبسك ثوب إنابة

وهداية وسلامة وعوافي

وهداية وسلامة وعوافي

And ask Him to clothe you in a robe of repentance,

And ask Him to clothe you in the garb of repentance

And guidance, safety, and well-being.

And guidance, wellbeing and blessings abounding

واشكر على النعماء واصبر للبلا

واشكر على النعماء واصبر للبلا

وتحل بالإفضال والإنصاف

وتحل بالإفضال والإنصاف

And give thanks for blessings, and be patient in affliction.

And thank for the blessings and persevere in tribulation

And adorn yourself with generosity and fairness.

And adorn yourself with grace and evenhandedness

وعليك بالإخلاص والصدق وبالز

وعليك بالإخلاص والصدق وبالز

هد وجانب منكر الأوصاف

هد وجانب منكر الأوصاف

And hold fast to sincerity, truthfulness, and renun-

And hold fast to sincerity and honesty and spurn

ciation; and shun blameworthy qualities.

Blameworthy traits and all their dressing

واستصحب التقوى وكن ذا همة

واستصحب التقوى وكن ذا همة

وفتوة وأمانة وعفاف

وفتوة وأمانة وعفاف

And keep piety as your companion, and possess resolve,

And take as companion piety, and be one of ambition

And chivalry, trustworthiness, and chastity.

And chivalry, trustworthiness and propriety

وأنب إلى دار الكرامة والبقا

وأنب إلى دار الكرامة والبقا

وعن الدنية كن أخي متجافي

وعن الدنية كن أخي متجافي

And turn toward the abode of honor and eternity.

And yearn for the abode of honor and permanence

And keep away from baseness, my brother.

And from baseness, my brother, hold yourself distant

والزم كتاب اللَه واتبع سنته

والزم كتاب اللَه واتبع سنته

واقتد هداك اللَه بالأسلاف

واقتد هداك اللَه بالأسلاف

And hold fast to God's Book, and follow His way.

And adhere to the Book of God and follow His way

And follow the predecessors' example—may God guide you—

And emulate your guide, as the ancients showed the path

أهل اليقين لعينه ولحقه

أهل اليقين لعينه ولحقه

وصلوا وثم جواهر الأصداف

وصلوا وثم جواهر الأصداف

The people of certainty—to its direct vision and its truth

The people of certainty, by His essence and truth

They attained; and there lie the jewels within the shells.

Who prayed and were gems of the noblest engraving

راح اليقين أعز مشروب لنا

راح اليقين أعز مشروب لنا

فاشرب وطب واسكر بخير سلاف

فاشرب وطب واسكر بخير سلاف

The wine of certainty is our most precious drink.

Certainty's wine is our most honored drink

So drink, be glad, and grow drunk on the finest pure wine.

So drink and live well and get drunk on the finest vintage

هذا شراب القوم سادتنا وقد

هذا شراب القوم سادتنا وقد

أخطأ الطريقة من يقل بخلاف

أخطأ الطريقة من يقل بخلاف

This is the drink of the folk—our masters—and indeed,

This is the drink of our masters and forebears

Whoever says otherwise has missed the way.

And misguided is he who differs in this matter
