Listen! Say to the ignorant one: how high do you aspire?
Alas! Say to the ignorant, how far do you aspire
And how strongly does your heart incline toward error?
And your heart leans towards sin, how much does it incline

You raced toward sin like a headstrong steed,
You rushed to sin like a torrent
while one with reason balks at sin.
And the sinner in sin becomes steeped

Lost indeed is he whose forbearance, being light,
He who dreams frivolously has erred
rises in the scales, and he whose burden of sin weighs heavy.
He bears a burden and it weighs him down

I have counseled you—counsel is religion—so do not
I advised you and advice is an obligation so do not
incur blame by disobeying one who counsels you.
