Good fortune and succor have exalted your cause;
The heavens at your command bring joy and salvation,
so all your days are weddings and feasts.
So your every age is festive occasions and celebrations.

What is the joy of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, when its joy
What joy in Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, and their delight!
habitually surpasses both feasts?
For them familiar habits at the two Eids are known.

And how could man not swell with pride
when glad tidings recur in such abundance?
When good news recurs and accumulates?

Your sword-belt's claim to dominion is true,
Your claim of empowered victory is truthful.
and your conquests furnish witnesses to the horizons.
From your conquests witnesses for the horizons abound.

No wonder the world casts its reins
No wonder that the world casts its reins
to you: even the revolving celestial sphere submits.
To you, for the revolving heavens are controlled.

Can the nights against you be wholesome?
when you send forth and bring in for God's sake?
From you, by God's will, come decrees and revenues.

The lot of kings is decline, which mars their rule;
The status of kings is diminished by their kingship,
but you gain ever more of what adorns you.
While you are adorned and increase through it.

You have become a support to guidance and ruin to error;
You have become a refuge for righteousness and a ruin for misguidance,
so their two factions receive their fill of gifts and fetters.
So both their parties are fully shackled and bound.

When you raised divine unity's party to victory,
When you established the oneness of God victorious,
only the adherents of corporealism were laid low.
The seat of the corporealists was no longer endowed.

You extinguished what they kindled, undoing what they believed;
You extinguished what they kindled, refuting their beliefs.
indeed, extinguishing and kindling are far apart.
Extinguishing and kindling are clearly distinct.

They were as numerous as pebbles until you advanced against them;
They were many pebbles until you subjugated them,
how utterly they vanished, those pebbles, and how utterly they perished!
So shattered were they, diminished and ceased to be.

May an imam of guidance gladden religion and the world,
The leader of guidance, his birth brings joy to religion and world,
whose birth is a birth for generosity and valor.
His birth for dew, and for war, a birth.

Through him, God's sacred rites are in the hands of a king
The rituals of God are in the hands of a king
whose helpers and reinforcements are the angels.
Whose helpers are angels and endless aid.

In their defense he wields what lays low,
He directs their protection however they be desecrated
as he wills, apostates and rebels.
According to his will, a watcher and intender.

When he goes to war, the steady earth trembles beneath them,
When he invades, the dignified earth trembles because of them,
raiders; and towering mountains are leveled with the plains.
Invaders who chase down deer in the valleys.

From every rugged terrain the angry roar,
like the sea, spurred to foam by foam.
Like an enraged sea stirred to surge and seethe.

Had I not turned my gaze upon his virtues,
If not for my inadequate time to praise him,
I would have denied that lions could spur eagles.
I would think the eagles race to aid him.

Either noble steeds or ships are their mounts;
Either the steeds or the ships are their horses,
saddle-felts and timbers are never left idle.
Neither tents nor staffs do they leave behind.

والسّمْهَرِيّةُ أكْسَارٌ وأَقْصَادُ
Their resolves remained sound and keen in battle,
They roused resolves raging in battle,
while the hard spears lay broken into fragments.
While the swords are breaks and strikes.

They owe it to guidance not to be touched,
Upon them, to guide, is an oath to never
when fighting the unbelievers, by exhaustion.
Be touched, though they struggle the infidels with all might.

They do not incline to comforts out of indulgence,
They persist not in comforts out of luxury,
and there is no enduring life in yielding to ease.
Nor in eternities if oblivion it would be.

They are humble, though the Pleiades are among their stations;
They are humble though lofty are their abodes,
they are mighty chiefs, lofty yet ascetic.
So they are ransackers, hunters, and ascetics.

In what pleases God they are led by one burning
One fervent for truth leads them in God's pastures,
for truth, until burial wipes out unbelief.
To abolish skepticism or idolatry.

The eyes' share is slumber, which brings them repose;
While the heedless are granted respite they are pleased with,
but his share from you, beneath the night, is sleeplessness.
His share from you is wakefulness beneath the night.

His sanctified thoughts forever loyal
ranges through Tihamah and Najd in all it devises.
In what he plans are blame and redemption.

as though it were his fame, traveling across the two horizons
As if his famed name across horizons
of west and east, journeying by day and night.
Of West and East are settings and risings.

The Indian subcontinent was not devoid of him,
when bodies parted from their souls.
When bodies are devoid of souls and lives.

His virtues are radiant, his ranks lofty;
The flowers of his virtues, the fragrance of his ranks,
they overtop the bright stars and soar above them.
For them are loyalty and dispatch to the meteors.

His prayer-vigils are coupled with uninterrupted fasting;
His adherence to noble fasts in Ramadan is tied,
so day and night are remembrance and regular devotions.
So days and nights are litanies and routine devotions.

As for life, no murk clouds its clarity;
As for life, nothing of its purity is marred,
Yahya has sweetened it with generous gifts and plenty.
It is beautified by John, so fascination and allurement.

His reign's reform spread through all worlds,
Reform encompassed the worlds through his state,
just after excess and corruption had spread everywhere.
His rulings curbed extravagance and corruption.

Through him, the lands became flourishing gardens,
He brought gardens to life through it, thriving,
beside pools, with water-seekers and pasture-seekers.
With lamps lit, visitors and people flowing.

In them a tuneful nightingale sings upon the cypress,
A bulbul sings joyfully atop a cypress in them
echoing a male owl's cry amid the wild lote-trees.
With what it sprinkled from between the misguided throng.

And gusts of breeze bend the branches, when
The branches bend from the blows of the gentle breeze, when
it passes languidly, so they sway and nod.
It flows weakly, so swaying and bending.

Such is happiness facilitated for the fortunate,
may favor never pass the auspicious ruler by.
None equals the empowered upright in fortune.

His sovereignty broke customary bounds, so there united
His authority breached norms so strangers and adversaries
upon the paths of guidance disparate people and opposites.
United around advisers and counts.

No doubt conquering Ceuta is intended
Ceuta's wake, appoints a time for common accord.
For consensus after the Saturday attack.

Egypt and Baghdad would not depart from her purpose.
When Egypt turned to him, and Baghdad.

the reckoning and enumeration of what he establishes.
Through computations and enumerations he establishes.

Positions wearied of reform that brings him closer
near success; so he drew away and bent.
To success, so he avoids and distances.

The Romans challenged God's command - how strange!
When were misguidance and right guidance ever equal?
When does seduction equate with guidance?

Never will it escape while destiny has determined
many watchers and ambushes of their own, lying in wait for them.
For it many necks and observations.

for a few have often routed thousands.
For often individuals defeat thousands.

Sons of the choicest Hafsid stock are noble
The children of Ruwais and Hafs, they vied
in lineage; sons of the illustrious are illustrious.
In nobility, and the eminent are eminent.

To poems we bid farewell, composing them about them,
of them, however long its composition and recitation.
Though composition and recital prolonged.

They attend no elegy for their youth,
nor have they equals in perfect merit.
And have no equals in perfect virtue.

Their fathers and grandfathers adorned them with nobility.
The lofty cypresses, fathers and ancestors adorned them.

The Chosen One raises them, woe to him of nobility!
Praise and commendation cannot do that honor justice.
