    عنبريُّ النَّشرِ ريميُّ الحَدَقْ

    May my father ransom my love, with honey-sweet dusky lips,

    Ambergris-scented, with the eyes of a white gazelle;

    Languid of gaze, guileless and enchanting,

    Peerless in his qualities, radiant as daybreak.

    He puts the full moon to shame in perfection when he appears,

    And pale statues in beauty when he casts a glance.

    His bashfulness has brought forth upon his cheek

    A twilight glow within daybreak, beneath the darkness of night.
