فإنَّ لأسهمي فضلاً عليهه

Let the Khatti spear bend its two flanks;

Let the coward wrap himself in his coat

for my arrows have an advantage over it.

إذا كان العلا قَتْلَ الأعادي

ينالُ الخيرَ أَسْرَعُنا إليه

ينالُ الخيرَ أَسْرَعُنا إليه

If glory lies in slaying foes,

If exalting is killing the enemies

the swiftest of us to it reaps the reward.
