It was as though the sea, when Dhukāʾ—the sun—rose,
As though the sea, when intelligence rose over it,
and a ray of hers gleamed upon its surface,
Flashed from it a ray, and armies appeared

were armies in full coats of mail; there appeared
In flowing robes, vying, between the brilliance of their arms
a glint of India's bright swords between the two.
And the whiteness of India, in their gleaming.
