وزاهرةِ المحاسِنِ ذاتِ طَرْفِ

وزاهرةِ المحاسِنِ ذاتِ طَرْفِ

يَقولُ تَضَمَّنَنْ في الشعرِ وَصْفِي

يَقولُ تَضَمَّنَنْ في الشعرِ وَصْفِي

And a woman of radiant charms, whose gaze

With blossoming beauty and glance so bright

says, "Be sure to include my description in verse."

You say my features are told in verse

فقلتُ جللتَ عن كلِّ المعاني

فقلتُ جللتَ عن كلِّ المعاني

فللتقصيرِ لم أَنْطِقْ بحرف

فللتقصيرِ لم أَنْطِقْ بحرف

So I said, "You are beyond all expression."

I said you've outshone all other sights

So, unable to do you justice, I did not utter a letter.

So out of my inadequacy I've not said a word
