لطفاًkindness بعبدwith a servant قدindeed أتاكhas come to You ضعيفاweak
فلقدfor indeed عهدتكI have known You بالضعيفwith the weak لطيفاgentle
Be gentle with a servant who has come to You weak;
Please, a weak servant has come to you,
for I have known You to be gentle with the weak.
For you have promised to be kind to the weak,
إنىindeed I ألفتُhave grown accustomed to وفاؤكمYour faithfulness ومنand part of الوفاfaithfulness
أنto تمنحواYou grant راجيكمthe one hoping in You المالوفاthe customary favor
Indeed, I am accustomed to Your faithfulness, and part of faithfulness is
I am accustomed to your faithfulness and loyalty,
to grant the one who hopes in You the customary favor.
Is to grant what your hopeful servant requests,
بكمin You ألوذI seek refuge منfrom البعادseparation وصرفهand its ravages
فمتىso when أرىI see صرفthe ravages of النوىseparation مصروفاturned away
In You I seek refuge from separation and its ravages;
With you I take refuge from estrangement and its diversion,
so when shall I see separation's ravages turned away?
So when will I see the intention's diversion go away?

Far be it from You that the hopeful should be disappointed,
Far be it from you that the hopeful becomes disappointed,
while he has long stood at the gate of Your bounty.
And that he has long stood at your door of generosity,

O full moon of my hopes and sun of their expectation,
O full moon of my hopes and sun of its rays,
do not follow the sun of hope with an eclipse.
Do not follow the eclipse of hope with more eclipses,

Cups of distance from You have intoxicated one exhausted by separation;
The cups after you intoxicated the intent of my soul,
they have passed round to him, so he remains intoxicated.
It kept bleeding and does not stop bleeding,

Then, when the light of gentle favors appears, he returns to
So when the light of your kindness appears again,
sobriety, and hope spreads curtains for him.
It wakes up sober and extends to it hope bowed down,

Separation's ally now stands at Your door,
Estrangement has sworn standing at your door,
and surely You are the most generous of those who shelter an ally.
Yet you are more generous than one who protects a sworn ally,

Whom have I but You? And You have never ceased, O my support,
Who do I have but you, and you have not ceased, O my reliance,
to be compassionate toward me in difficult affairs.
To be kind to me in difficult matters,

You have lavished on me blessings whose number has multiplied;
Your abundant favours multiply in number,
so with them You have adorned my cloaks with stripes.
So you braided my mind with them,

O One, Eternal, Everlasting, who
known for pardoning our lapses.
Is known to forgive our lapses,

And so I extended the hand of supplication hoping,
and upon You my hope is now fixed.
And on you my hopes for tomorrow depend,

be tender toward me, O hope of my aspirations.
O my hope, be kind and gracious to me,

So upon him be a greeting from one in far-off lands,
To him from my distant lands regards,
whose fragrance is dewy in spring and summer.
Which its springtime made known and clear.
