وقالوا لاح عارضُه

وقالوا لاح عارضُه

وما وَلّتْ وِلايتُهُ

وما وَلّتْ وِلايتُهُ

And they said, “His cheek-down has appeared,

They said his face fault appeared

Yet his reign has not ended.”

And his authority did not turn away

فقلت عِذارُ مَنْ أَهوى

فقلت عِذارُ مَنْ أَهوى

أَمارتُه إِمارتُه

أَمارتُه إِمارتُه

I said, “The cheek-down of the one I love—

So I said the excuse of who I loved

Its sign is its sovereignty.”

His command is his command
