And a rosy-cheeked one, whose beauty is a sun—
The source of gardens, the sun of his beauty,
when he appeared, its radiance dazzled the eyes.
When it appeared, nothing but light filled my eyes.

Beauty inscribed lines upon his cheeks,
He drew the line of beauty across his brow,
and through them my gaze upon him became possible.
So it was possible for me to look upon him.

Like the sun, which prevents you from beholding its face;
Like the sun, its shining face prevents you,
but when it dons a thin cloud, gazing becomes possible.
But veiled softly by cloud, gazing was possible.
