Ali
فَشِعرُهُso his poetry قَدalready هَجاهُhas lampooned him
Whoever seeks to lampoon Ali,
Whoever aims to disparage Ali
His own poetry has already lampooned him.
His own poetry has disparaged him
لَوif أَنَّهُthat he لِأَبيهِbelonging to his father
ماnot كانَwas يَهجوlampoons أَباهُhis father
If he were his father's son,
Had Ali been his father
He would not lampoon his father.
He would not disparage his own father
