ظَلَلنا نُسقى سُكَّراً حامِضاً

ظَلَلنا نُسقى سُكَّراً حامِضاً

غَصباً عَلى أَنفُسِنا قَسرا

غَصباً عَلى أَنفُسِنا قَسرا

We spent the day being served a sour sugar drink,

We were forced to drink bitter syrup

by force, against our will, under compulsion.

Against our will by force

وَنَقلُنا مِن قَصَبٍ يابِسٍ

وَنَقلُنا مِن قَصَبٍ يابِسٍ

كَأَنَّنا نَعمَلُ آجُرّا

كَأَنَّنا نَعمَلُ آجُرّا

And our snacks were dry cane,

And we were transferred from dry cane

as though we were making bricks.

As if we were making bricks

وَعِندَنا مَن يَتَغَنّى لَنا

وَعِندَنا مَن يَتَغَنّى لَنا

كَأَنَّهُ مِن فَمِهِ يَخرا

كَأَنَّهُ مِن فَمِهِ يَخرا

And we had someone singing for us,

And we have someone who sings to us

as though he were shitting from his mouth.

As if excrement comes out of his mouth
