We drank the vine’s juice beneath its shade,
We drank the vineyard's juice beneath its shade
Before the face of one beloved for his charms, slender and graceful.
Upon the cheek of my love of perfect grace
كَأَنَّas though عَناقيدَgrape-clusters الكُرومِthe grapevines وَظِلَّهاand their shade

As though the vines’ grape-clusters and their shade
As though the clusters and the leaves were made
Were stars of pearl in a sky of chrysolite.
Of stars of pearl in dome of turquoise lace
