بَني عَمِّنا عودوا نَعُد لِمَوَدَّةٍ

بَني عَمِّنا عودوا نَعُد لِمَوَدَّةٍ

فَإِنّا إِلى الحُسنى سِراعُ التَعَطُّفِ

فَإِنّا إِلى الحُسنى سِراعُ التَعَطُّفِ

Sons of our uncle, return, and we shall return to affection;

O sons of our uncle, let us return to affection

For we are swift to turn kindly toward goodness.

For we are quick to be gracious

وَإِلّا فَإِنّي لا أَزالُ عَلَيكُمُ

وَإِلّا فَإِنّي لا أَزالُ عَلَيكُمُ

مَحالِفَ أَحزانٍ كَثيرَ التَلَهُّفِ

مَحالِفَ أَحزانٍ كَثيرَ التَلَهُّفِ

Otherwise, on your account I shall remain

Or else I will remain upon you

An ally of sorrows, full of lamentation.

Ally to many sorrows, oft sighing

لَقَد بَلَغَ الشَيطانُ مِن آلِ هاشِمٍ

لَقَد بَلَغَ الشَيطانُ مِن آلِ هاشِمٍ

مَبالِغَهُ مِن قَبلُ في آلِ يوسُفِ

مَبالِغَهُ مِن قَبلُ في آلِ يوسُفِ

Indeed, Satan has reached within the family of Hashim

Indeed Satan from the family of Hashim

The extremes he reached before within the family of Joseph.

Attained his goals from early on in the family of Joseph
