O you who bring blessings, in every circumstance,

To me, whether I am nearby or live far away,

As rain reaches the lands with its floodwaters,

Even if it pours its showers upon another land.

And O you who turn toward me while Time turns away from me,

Dividing my flesh between fang and claws.

And O you who see me wherever I am, by keeping me in mind,

And how many people have not seen me with their eyes!

And how many blessings from God, in averting calamity,

Are hoped for—and how many unwelcome things grew sweet after bitterness!

And not everything that souls desire is beneficial,

Nor is everything that souls fear harmful.

God has indeed made the vizierate flourish through his name,

And restored its rightful holders to it after desolation.

And for a time its footing would not hold steady,

Then it found a firm foundation, not a feeble one.
