My two friends, disregard the sincere adviser’s words.

And rise, then mingle wine with spirit.

For dawn has spread a robe of light,

And dew-laden breaths of wind have stirred.

And the time has come for a pitcher to bow to a cup,

And the cock called, “Come to the morning draught!”

And the reed flute yearned in rapture and longing

For an eloquent string that answers it.

Is the world anything but this and this,

And a handsome cupbearer who does not disobey us?
