لَقَد بَلِيَت نَفسي بِمَن لا يُجيبُني

لَقَد بَلِيَت نَفسي بِمَن لا يُجيبُني

وَذاكَ عَذابٌ فَوقَ كُلِّ عَذابِ

وَذاكَ عَذابٌ فَوقَ كُلِّ عَذابِ

My soul has indeed been worn down by one who does not answer me.

I have suffered from one who does not answer me

And that is a torment beyond every torment.

وَقُلتُ لَهُ رُدَّ الجَوابَ فَقالَ لي

وَقُلتُ لَهُ رُدَّ الجَوابَ فَقالَ لي

جَوابُكَ لا فَاِقطَع جَوابَ جَوابي

جَوابُكَ لا فَاِقطَع جَوابَ جَوابي

And I said to him, “Give an answer,” so he said to me:

And I said to him, give me an answer, but he said to me

“The answer to you is ‘No,’ so stop replying to my reply.”
