وَحَظِّيَ وَالبَلاغَةِ وَالبَيانِ

وَحَظِّيَ وَالبَلاغَةِ وَالبَيانِ

If you sense a slackening in the writing,

When you sense languor in my verse

And in my fortune, eloquence, and expression,

In eloquence, rhetoric and expression

فَلا تَرتَب بِفَهمي إِنَّ رَقصي

فَلا تَرتَب بِفَهمي إِنَّ رَقصي

عَلى مِقدارِ إيقاعِ الزَمانِ

عَلى مِقدارِ إيقاعِ الزَمانِ

Then do not doubt my understanding: indeed, my dance

Do not doubt my understanding, for my dance
