غَفَرتُ ذَنبَ النَوى إِذ كُنتُ باخِلَهُ

غَفَرتُ ذَنبَ النَوى إِذ كُنتُ باخِلَهُ

أَيّامَ أَمكَنَ مِنكَ الوُدُّ وَاللَطَفُ

أَيّامَ أَمكَنَ مِنكَ الوُدُّ وَاللَطَفُ

I have forgiven separation's sin, having once begrudged it forgiveness,

I forgave the guilt of intimacy when I was ungenerous to her

in the days when affection and kindness could be had from you.

During days when affection and kindness were possible from you

لَم يَفعَلُ البَينُ إِلّا ما فَعَلتَ وَما

لَم يَفعَلُ البَينُ إِلّا ما فَعَلتَ وَما

بَينَ الأَخِلّاءِ إِلّا المَطلُ وَالخُلُفُ

بَينَ الأَخِلّاءِ إِلّا المَطلُ وَالخُلُفُ

Parting did only what you did, and there is nothing

Nothing but what you did has caused this separation

between close friends but delay and broken promises.

And nothing but expectation and disagreement happens between dear friends
