عَلَيكَ بِذا وَذا وَاِقطَع وَواصِل

عَلَيكَ بِذا وَذا وَاِقطَع وَواصِل

وَفارِق كُلَّما قَد كُنتَ مَعهُ

وَفارِق كُلَّما قَد كُنتَ مَعهُ

Hold to this and that; sever ties and maintain them.

Do this, do that, sever ties, keep in touch,

And part whenever you have been with him.

Part from all you were once with,

وَمَن أَحبَبتَ فَاِعذِر وَاِسلُ عَنهُ

وَمَن أَحبَبتَ فَاِعذِر وَاِسلُ عَنهُ

وَمَقلوبُ الوَفا أَن لا تَدَعهُ

وَمَقلوبُ الوَفا أَن لا تَدَعهُ

And whomever you loved, excuse him and forget him.

Those you loved, make excuses for them and ask their forgiveness,

And the reverse of loyalty is not to leave him.

It is fickle loyalty to abandon them.
