إِيّاكَbeware مِنof ناسٍNās وَأَمثالِهِand his like
إِيّاكَ مِن ناسٍ وَأَمثالِهِ
فَالعَيشُfor life مَعwith أَمثالِهِhis like يَقبُحُis ugly
فَالعَيشُ مَع أَمثالِهِ يَقبُحُ
Beware of Nās and his like;
Beware of people like him,
For life with his like is ugly.
For living with his kind is ugly.
إِذاwhen تَغَنّىhe sings رافِعاًraising صَوتَهُhis voice
إِذا تَغَنّى رافِعاً صَوتَهُ
حَسِبتَهُyou would think him سِنوَرَةًa she-cat تُذبَحُbeing slaughtered
حَسِبتَهُ سِنوَرَةً تُذبَحُ
When he sings, raising his voice,
When he sings loudly raising his voice,
You would think him a she-cat being slaughtered.
You'd think him a cat being slaughtered.
