يَسحَرُ مِنهُ النَظَرُ
A moon has spurned my heart;
My heart was fascinated by the moon,
his gaze casts a spell.
Which enchants the eyes with its splendor.
وَقَدand indeed فَنَيتُI have wasted away بَعدَهُafter him
وَقَد فَنَيتُ بَعدَهُ
وَضاعَand was lost ذاكَthat الحَذَرُthe caution
وَضاعَ ذاكَ الحَذَرُ
And I have wasted away in his absence,
After it disappeared I was lost,
and that caution has been lost.
And all caution was abandoned.

With a cheek, as though
With cheeks that seem to sparkle,
his sidelong glance strikes sparks from it,
And a drinker who has intended or slept

His eyelids are languid,
And his heart is stone.

Never have I seen a face like this
That mankind could survive its harm.
that any mortal has survived.
