Let the alms due from your flourishing Sadir palace

Make the charity of your prosperous home flourish

Be the repair of my house—for what a pauper it is!

Reforming my house for it is a poor man

تجب الزكاة على بيوتك كلها

تجب الزكاة على بيوتك كلها

غير البيوت لفضلك المشهور

غير البيوت لفضلك المشهور

Alms are due on all your houses,

Charity is obligatory on all your homes

Unlike other houses, because of your renowned bounty.

Except for your homes, due to your well-known generosity

وأحق من أدت إليه زكاتها

وأحق من أدت إليه زكاتها

بيتي لمالك من هوى لضميري

بيتي لمالك من هوى لضميري

And the worthiest recipient of the alms they pay

And the most deserving of the charity you give

Is my house, for the love you bear my heart.

Is my home, for the one my conscience loves

بيت بناه لي الممهد منعما

بيت بناه لي الممهد منعما

وأطال فيه بشرتي وسروري

وأطال فيه بشرتي وسروري

A house al-Mumahhid graciously built for me,

A home built for me by the gracious host

And in it prolonged my gladness and joy.

In which my spirit and joy were prolonged

ونزلت من أعلى لأسفل روعة

ونزلت من أعلى لأسفل روعة

يا وحشتاه لمنزلي المعمور

يا وحشتاه لمنزلي المعمور

And I descended from above to below in fright.

And it descended from highest to lowest, a marvel

Alas, how I miss my flourishing home!

Oh how I miss my prosperous dwelling

يحيا بيحي ما شكوت خرابه

يحيا بيحي ما شكوت خرابه

ويعود أحسن منزل معمور

ويعود أحسن منزل معمور

Through Yahya, the home whose ruin I lamented revives,

Long live my home, though in ruins it cries

And becomes again the finest flourishing home.

And may it return the most prosperous dwelling

يا غارة الملك الهزبر تعطفا

يا غارة الملك الهزبر تعطفا

يا عطفة الملك الهزبر أغيري

يا عطفة الملك الهزبر أغيري

O onslaught of the lion-king, show compassion!

Oh raid of the victorious king, show mercy

O compassion of the lion-king, launch a raid!

Oh mercy of the victorious king, change me
