If only they had been Jews!

كان لا يخشى على النا

س بما قالوا اغترارا

Then there would have been no fear for people

of being deceived by what they said.

حاربوا الرحمن سراً

حاربوا الرحمن سراً

وأطاعوه جهارا

وأطاعوه جهارا

They fought the All-Merciful in secret

and obeyed Him openly.

أكرهوا نسكا وأخفوا

أكرهوا نسكا وأخفوا

كل كفر لا يجارى

كل كفر لا يجارى

They imposed ritual devotion and concealed

every kind of unbelief beyond compare.

واستمالوا الناس بالدين

واستمالوا الناس بالدين

على الدين ضرارا

على الدين ضرارا

And they won people over through religion

to inflict harm upon religion.

أظهروا التنزيه لله

أظهروا التنزيه لله

بسب لا يوارى

بسب لا يوارى

They professed God's transcendence

through abuse that could not be hidden.

وصفوه باتحاد

وصفوه باتحاد

جمع الكل اختصارا

جمع الكل اختصارا

They described Him as a union

that gathered all together, in short.

نصر الشيطان منهم

نصر الشيطان منهم

شيخ سوء لا يبارى

شيخ سوء لا يبارى

Among them, Satan was championed

by an evil sheikh beyond compare.

قال كل الخلق شيء

قال كل الخلق شيء

وهو الله اضطرارا

وهو الله اضطرارا

He said: “All creation is one thing,

and it is God, of necessity.

من يقل في الكون شيء

من يقل في الكون شيء

غيره مان وجارا

غيره مان وجارا

Whoever says there is anything in the universe

besides Him has lied and transgressed.”

قيل للشيخ فمن ما

قيل للشيخ فمن ما

ن ومن حار فجارا

ن ومن حار فجارا

The sheikh was asked: “Then who has lied,

and who was bewildered and so transgressed?”

دينه دين خبيث

دينه دين خبيث

وعلى التعطيل دارا

وعلى التعطيل دارا

His religion is a vile religion,

and it revolved around denying God's attributes.

لا ترى الخالق شيئا

لا ترى الخالق شيئا

سوى الخلق اقتصارا

سوى الخلق اقتصارا

You see the Creator as nothing

but creation alone.

وتسمى الخلق بالله

وتسمى الخلق بالله

خداعا ومكارا

خداعا ومكارا

And creation took the name of God,

in deception and guile.

خادع الجهال في العل

خادع الجهال في العل

م فعدوا العلم عارا

م فعدوا العلم عارا

He deceived the ignorant about knowledge,

so they deemed knowledge a disgrace.

ونهوا عنه البرايا

ونهوا عنه البرايا

ورضوا الجهل اختيارا

ورضوا الجهل اختيارا

And they forbade mankind to pursue it,

and willingly embraced ignorance.

فأضلوا حين ضلوا

فأضلوا حين ضلوا

من أضلوه فبارا

من أضلوه فبارا

So, when they went astray, they misled

those they misled, who then came to ruin.

وادعوا علما من ال

وادعوا علما من ال

له استثاروه استثارا

له استثاروه استثارا

And they claimed knowledge from

God, which they had indeed drawn forth.

نبذوا القرآن معه

نبذوا القرآن معه

والأحاديث احتقارا

والأحاديث احتقارا

Along with it, they cast aside the Qur'an

and the hadiths, in contempt.

وازدروا من طلب العلم

وازدروا من طلب العلم

وعدوه عوارا

وعدوه عوارا

And they scorned whoever sought knowledge

and deemed it a blemish.

واستوى من يعبد ال

واستوى من يعبد ال

لَه لديهم والحجارا

لَه لديهم والحجارا

And worshippers of

God and of stones were equal in their eyes.

فعليهم لعنة الر

فعليهم لعنة الر

رَحمن ليلا ونهارا

رَحمن ليلا ونهارا

So upon them be the curse of

the All-Merciful, by night and by day.

فحذار أيها الناس

فحذار أيها الناس

من الكفر حذارا

من الكفر حذارا

So beware, O people,

of unbelief—beware!

أرسول الله منه

أرسول الله منه

عوضا يا من أعارا

عوضا يا من أعارا

Is God's Messenger, in his place,

a substitute, O you who have lent—

مع شيطان رجيم

مع شيطان رجيم

يطلب الإسلام ثارا

يطلب الإسلام ثارا

alongside an accursed devil

seeking vengeance against Islam?

شر ما اعتاض من اع

شر ما اعتاض من اع

تاض من الجنة نارا

تاض من الجنة نارا

How evil the bargain of one who

takes fire in exchange for Paradise!

أبخير الخلق ترضو

أبخير الخلق ترضو

ن من الخلق الشرارا

ن من الخلق الشرارا

Would you accept, in place of the best of creation,

the wicked among creation?
