عجبت لتلميذ رضى شر سنة

إلى شر شيخ كافر بالشريعة

إلى شر شيخ كافر بالشريعة

I marvel at a pupil content with the vilest religious way,

I marveled at a pupil content with the worst practice,

turning to the vilest shaykh—an unbeliever in the Sacred Law.

يرى الخالق المخلوق علما لديننا

يرى الخالق المخلوق علما لديننا

ومنكر هذا جاهلا بالحقيقة

ومنكر هذا جاهلا بالحقيقة

He holds the Creator to be the creature—a banner of our faith—

He regards “the Creator is the created” as knowledge of our religion,

and deems whoever denies this ignorant of the Truth.

and anyone denying this as ignorant of the truth.

ومن يعبد الرحمن ليس يرى له

ومن يعبد الرحمن ليس يرى له

على عابد الأوثان فضل مزية

على عابد الأوثان فضل مزية

And in one who worships the All-Merciful he sees no

And for one who worships the All-Merciful, he sees no

superiority over an idol-worshiper, no distinguishing merit.

فإن تلعنوا الشيخ الكفور بربه

فإن تلعنوا الشيخ الكفور بربه

فلا تعد من تلميذه رُب لعنة

فلا تعد من تلميذه رُب لعنة

So if you curse the shaykh who utterly disbelieves in his Lord,

So if you curse the sheikh who utterly disbelieves in his Lord,

do not reckon the returning of a curse as coming from his pupil.

then do not spare his pupil many a curse.
