يا أَيُّها النَّجْمُ ما وَفَّيْتُهُ لَقَباً

وَأَنْتَ بَدْرٌ وَمِنْكَ الْبَدْرُ يَعْتَذِرُ

وَأَنْتَ بَدْرٌ وَمِنْكَ الْبَدْرُ يَعْتَذِرُ

O star, I have not done you justice with that title;

O star, I did not do justice by calling you that

And you are a full moon, and the full moon apologizes to you.

You are the full moon, and the moon seeks your pardon

أَخُوكَ شَمْسٌ عَلَى الأَيّامِ طالِعَةٌ

فَكَيْفَ يُنْكِرُ خَلْقٌ أَنَّكَ الْقَمَرُ

فَكَيْفَ يُنْكِرُ خَلْقٌ أَنَّكَ الْقَمَرُ

Your brother is a sun rising day after day;

Your brother sun rises over the days

So how can anyone deny that you are the moon?
