    أَمْسَتْ بِتَأْيِيدِكَ مَضْبُوطَهْ

    O son of Ali, no lofty honors have been lost;

through your support they have become secure.

Whoever was envied for attaining them—

they, in turn, are envied for attaining you.

How many a favor, never denied,

    and a blessing, never slighted,

through which you won my gratitude, and which pointed to

a love mingled with the soul!

And the noble, bountiful man—never does

wealth feel safe from his squandering on the morning of giving.

The robe has arrived, and I have no excuse

for wearing the robe without a waistcloth,

especially since, by generosity's decree, it

is stipulated in the covenant of your promise.

How, when your character is pleasing,

can I keep its company while my lot is displeasing?

May time never draw my hand back from wealth,

while it is outstretched toward your bounty.
