Death's vicissitudes—their victim does not perish;
And the abode of calamities—its ailing one never recovers.

I was afflicted with it unwillingly, so I loathed it,
As a lodger loathes the abode of humiliation.

And lament lofty virtues: their departure is now in earnest.

Death while its vendettas lay among any but the noble.

Whose right hands generosity scans for rain and deems rain-bearing.
