نقطها من مسك شاماته

نقطها من مسك شاماته

Since verses of cheek-down were traced for him,

When he wrote verses of promises,

his moles dotted them with musk.

ولاح في أصداغه وجهه

كأنه البدر بهالاته

And his face shone amid his temple-locks,

His face shone in his cheeks,

as though it were the full moon with its halos.

وأرسل اللحظ نذيراً وقد

كلم قلبي بمناجاته

And he sent his glance as a warner, and it had

Sending looks as harbingers,

spoken to my heart in its intimate whispers.

Speaking to my heart in intimacy,

لم استطع كفرانها انني

لم استطع كفرانها انني

آمنت باللَه وآياته

آمنت باللَه وآياته

I could not disbelieve in them; indeed, I

I could not deny them; I

have believed in God and His signs.

Believed in God and His verses.
