  1. روحي بروحي من هلال هوى

    واستبدل السبع عن السبع

    My soul for that soul of mine—a crescent that fell,

    And exchanged the seven for the seven.

  2. تاللَه ما أدري أأيامه

    من بعده أسرع أم دمعي

    By God, I do not know: are his days

    Since his departure swifter, or my tears?
