May God water the land where you dwell with a downpour,

and may the hovering clouds greet your dwelling places.

I am not sparing with my tears, except that

I loathe watering with tears: most of them are blood.

And by him: a graceful youth whose absence bequeathed me

a robe of wasting sickness for his sake, and grievous illness.

My reproacher pitied me for loving him,

until his cheek-down appeared—then he reproached me.
