your absence is not pleasant, O daughter of the tribe.

Of thy folk! And lengthen the slumberous eyes with a last look at the past,

فليس بعد اليوم من نوم

And provision my eyelid with the phantom of slumber,

For never from sleep shall they wake again after to-day.

for after today there is no sleep.
