قَولي بغير الذي أوليت من حَسَنِ

كقَولِ أهل العمى في الشمس والقمرِ

كقَولِ أهل العمى في الشمس والقمرِ

My words, if contrary to the kindness you have bestowed,

Are like the words of the blind about the sun and moon.

فالشمسُ إن جحدَ الأعمى فضيلتَها

فالشمسُ إن جحدَ الأعمى فضيلتَها

فإنّما قولهُ عن آفةِ البصرِ

فإنّما قولهُ عن آفةِ البصرِ

As for the sun, if a blind man denies its excellence,

His words arise only from a defect in his sight.
