سَحَرَbewitched العيونَthe eyes جمالُthe beauty of هذاthis التاجthe crown
سَحَرَ العيونَ جمالُ هذا التاج
لماwhen حكىresembled مذهَّبgold-embroidered الديباجthe brocade
لما حكى مذهَّب الديباج
The beauty of this crown bewitched the eyes,
when it resembled gold-embroidered brocade.
وعلىand upon مِنَبصَّتِهِits dais العروسُthe bride كأنَّهَاas though she were
وعلى مِنَبصَّتِهِ العروسُ كأنَّهَا
شمسٌa sun تلوحُshining بأشرفِin the noblest of الأبرَاجthe zodiacal houses
شمسٌ تلوحُ بأشرفِ الأبرَاج
And upon its dais, the bride is like
a sun shining in the noblest of the zodiacal houses.
بلدٌa city بهin it القمرانِthe two moons قدindeed جُمِعَاwere both brought together معاًtogether
بلدٌ به القمرانِ قد جُمِعَا معاً
وتقابلاand they faced one another بسناهماwith their radiance الوهاجblazing
وتقابلا بسناهما الوهاج
A city where the two moons have been brought together,
and have faced one another in their blazing radiance.
