O king, whose benefactions
O king, whose bounties
ever grow and pour down, knowing no bound,
Grow and rain down, without limit.

فيذودُso he defends عَنon behalf of دينِthe faith of الهُدىguidance ويجودُand gives generously
his striving and generosity divide all time between them:
Time has apportioned his striving and his generosity;
he defends the faith of true guidance and gives freely.
So he defends the faith of guidance and gives freely.

Endowed with a resolve which, if embodied before the eyes,
A man of resolve—were it to take form before the eyes,
would be a raging fire, its fuel blazing from it;
It would be a blaze of fire from which fuel would ignite.

endowed with an aspiration which, if its form appeared,
A man of lofty aspiration—were its form ever revealed,
would rise for him above al-Simāk.
It would then rise above al-Simāk.

فجزاؤُكَso your reward التَّمكِينُfirm establishment والتمهِيدُand the smoothing of the way
You have surely helped God’s religion recover from its stumbles;
You have indeed lifted God's faith from its stumbles;
therefore your reward is empowerment and firm establishment.
So your reward is firm establishment and the smoothing of the way.
وَكَفَيتَand you have seen to حالَthe affairs of المعتديthe aggressor والمجتديand the supplicant
هاbehold ذاكthat one محدودٌdeprived وذاand this one مجدودُfortunate
You have dealt with both aggressor and petitioner:
And you have seen to the affairs of the aggressor and the supplicant:
there—the former is restrained, the latter favored by fortune.
Behold: that one is deprived, and this one fortunate.
والمجتديand the supplicant برجائهfor his hope لَكَin you مُصفَدٌgiven bounty
والمعتديand the aggressor بعنادهfor his obstinacy مصفودُfettered
The petitioner is bound to you by his hope,
And the supplicant is given bounty for his hope in you,
and the aggressor is fettered by his own obstinacy.
And the aggressor is fettered for his obstinacy.
