لئن عاقني ذنبي فغودرت مبعدا

لئن عاقني ذنبي فغودرت مبعدا

ولم أر أربعاً للرسول ومعهدا

ولم أر أربعاً للرسول ومعهدا

If indeed my sin has hindered me, leaving me far away,

If my sin has caused me to wander far astray,

and I have not seen the Messenger's abodes and dwelling place,

Though I saw not the Prophet's four rightly guided,

فأهدي صلاتي ما حييت مرددا

فأهدي صلاتي ما حييت مرددا

تزوركَ يا خيرَ الأنامِ محمدا

تزوركَ يا خيرَ الأنامِ محمدا

then I send my prayer of blessing, repeating it as long as I live:

I send my prayers to you while I live, repeating them,

you are visited, O Muhammad, best of humankind,

Visiting you, O best of mankind, Muhammad.

صلاةُ شج في عبرة مستهلة

صلاةُ شج في عبرة مستهلة

by a grieving man's prayer amid streaming tears.

My teary prayers at dawn flow ceaselessly,
