بنيانُهُ متساقِطَ الشرفاتِ

And Kisra’s palace hall shook, leaving

The palace of Chosroes shook and was ruined,

its structure with its battlements tumbling down.

Its terraces collapsing in decay.

وخبَت به للفرس نارلإ ما خَبَت

وخبَت به للفرس نارلإ ما خَبَت

مِن قَبلُ في وقتٍ من الأوقاتِ

مِن قَبلُ في وقتٍ من الأوقاتِ

And through him the Persians’ fire went out, though it had never gone out

For Persia it presaged an evil day,

before, at any time.

The like of which it never saw till then.

وحليمةٌ لما غَدَت ظِئراً له

وحليمةٌ لما غَدَت ظِئراً له

قد شاهدَت عِبَراً مِنَ الآياتِ

قد شاهدَت عِبَراً مِنَ الآياتِ

And Halima, when she became his wet nurse,

When Halimah suckled him, she used to see

had witnessed instructive wonders among the signs,

Wondrous signs of his future destiny.

حتى تَلأَلأ نورُهُ الوضاحُ في

حتى تَلأَلأ نورُهُ الوضاحُ في

أفُقِ النبوَّةَ مَاحِيَ الظُلُماتِ

أفُقِ النبوَّةَ مَاحِيَ الظُلُماتِ

until his radiant light shone across

His light spread through the firmaments until

the horizon of prophethood, dispelling the darkness.

It dispelled the darkness of idolatry.
