غصن نما إذ ثوى بطن الثرى عجبا
والغصنand the branch مهماwhenever توىperished بطنthe belly of الثرىthe earth صلحاbecame sound
والغصن مهما توى بطن الثرى صلحا
A bough grew when it came to rest in earth’s bosom—what a wonder!
A branch grew when it lay in the belly of the earth—how wondrous!
And however a bough may perish in earth’s bosom, it revives.
And the branch, whenever it perishes in the belly of the earth, becomes sound.
